Malvaste Holistic Space
We are renovating an old historical site to turn it into a modern retreat & culture centre to help people reconnect with nature and themselves.
Dmitri, Valerie, and Sky welcome you!
What is this all about?
This place once belonged to my family 15 years ago.
Over the years, things fell apart — broken windows, open doors, overgrown paths, a sense of danger.
When we finally managed to buy it back, I thought: maybe it’s not too late?
We’re not here to build a spa or an apartment complex.
Instead, we want to see if this could grow into something peaceful and meaningful — be it a silent retreat centre for people and organizations seeking to reconnect, an artistic space for anyone to unfold their creative potential, or a holistic space for community which offers transformative experiences for personal growth.

Events & Solo Retreats
During our first summer in Malvaste we organised family retreats, community gatherings, tea ceremonies and dialogue sessions - as events have always been our specialty!
From the beginning, our goal has been to bring a new type of connection to our guests - one through personal exploration and nature.
Where Are We Now?
And where do we want to go?
1. Camping houses & essential needs

The first five camping houses were renovated in the first part of July 2025. Each house has its unique theme and can fit up to 4 people.
The goal is to finish the renovation of the other 5 houses in spring 2026.
We also have wooden sauna, shower and eco-friendly toilets.

2. The future of the schoolhouse
The large schoolhouse is the heart of our place. It’s not under heritage protection right now, but we’re exploring if that’s possible. We want to restore it as authentically as possible, just the way it used to be.
We already cleaned the main house and removed the old furniture. Currently we are looking to assess the damage, figure out what we can and we cannot do and gather offers.
We have a large event Tipi at our disposal, which allows us to host very deep and meaningful events for our guests.
The Tipi can host up to 80 people at a time, heated and fir for any mood of the Nordic weather.
3. An event space!
We have only just started, but we already have a large Tipi tent serving as a community space, renovated the first five camping houses, and getting ready to give a place a new life in spring!
Malvaste is a living and breathing organism, and we will develop it together with the community and our guests! If you have any ideas, just reach out.
We are currently looking for:
People who can assess the condition of the buildings
Support to protect the area and prevent further damage
Any kind of new ideas, feedback or suggestions — everything is welcome!
