The project “Renovation and activation of the Solo Retreat Cabins in Malvaste” was carried out with the support of the LEADER Programme and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).

The goal was to introduce a completely new tourism concept in Hiiumaa – dedicated solo-retreat cabins designed for deep rest, reflection, and creative renewal.
We renovated five cabins, turning them into quiet, inspiring spaces that support mental clarity and personal transformation.

Results:

• 5 fully renovated cabins forming the core of the new Solo Retreat Center

• 1 full-time job created

• a new tourism service launched, strengthening Hiiumaa’s vision as “Europe’s Island of Silence”

• first retreats and community events held, bringing together more than 60 participants

• extended tourism season and creation of a distinctive, internationally appealing experience

This project helps shape Hiiumaa into a destination not only for tourism, but for inner renewal and authentic silence.
